The 12 Scores of Christmas - GIVEAWAY!

The season to be jolly is almost upon us and this year we wanted to spread a little extra cheer by giving away not one, but 12 AMAZING PRIZES! ✨
How do you participate? Very simple:
🎄Share a festive composition of one minute maximum on your social channels using the hashtag #12ScoresOfChristmas. This could be a popular song, an original composition or the score to your favourite Christmas movie, the more creative the better!
🎄 All entries must use at least one Spitfire Audio library. If you don’t own any fear not, LABS are allowed!
🎄 Send the link to your post to [email protected] by Tuesday 14th of December, and don’t forget to mention your username, and any Spitfire Audio libraries you used! (Only one entry per person)
Once we have chosen our 12 favourite entries, they will be entered into a randomised prize tombola, and we will announce one winner, alongside their prize every day!
For the full details and to see the list of drool-worthy prizes, check the link.

Again, thank you Spitfire for organizing another great event!! Exciting!!!

Really nice from Spitfire to organize this. I have one question. What do you mean by having to mention your username? Your Spitfire account, community account, some social ones or...? In the original page from spitfire there is no mention of a username, only in the rules here on this forum. Thank you!

I don't have any videos to work on and I don't know how to download Christmas video clips to work on, could somebody help me please?

Hey Jason, I don't think you are required to put it to video (someone please correct me if I am wrong). If you did want video you could always try thecuetube.com or just search for public domain videos.

I've just seen the submission date, I'm having Christmas dinner this weekend, both days, Saturday with my work colleagues and Sunday with my family, I'm going to be too pissed up to be able to make anything half decent with how late I've left it, anyways mate, thank you again for your help mate your a gooden!
I wish you a merry Christmas too! ☃️

On my first read through of the rules I thought they wanted a video (so I did a very bad animation for my, not exactly world-changing but hopefully fun, entry) but then, afterwards, I saw this:
- The more creative your entry is, the better, however, we will mostly be judging the score, not the video (so if you only have a still image or a video of your DAW this is fine)
There is the word "mostly" there though - would imagine doing something synced to video is not going to hurt your chances if it hits well (see Alzo XP's amazing ambient jingle bells arrangement + video - that hits like an anvil to the face!!).
Thanks to composernc for pointing me at free video sources - I would happily score a video of paint drying if it gave me an excuse to write music!

Do we have the whole day of the 14th to get entries in?
Thanks

Happy Crimple Everybody! This is my abbreviated rendition of 'We (Five-Four) Three Kings' for jazz quartet and orchestra for the #12ScoresOfChristmas challenge, using their Mrs. Mills Piano and BBCSO Core libraries. The soundcloud version has the best audio. The video on the others is just meters and mixing board from Logic.

Although Christmas is not about anything that dark, I liked your second part more.

Nice challenge! It sparks ideas immediately.

One question : if we make a video. Is it allowed to contain dialogue or voiceover?

Hi There! This is my entry to the 12 scores of christmas
I used Labs and BBC Symphony Orchestra

Hello everyone! Wouldn’t it be great if these could be compiled into a Spitfire Audio customers’ Christmas album? Maybe a playlist on SoundCloud? Here’s my entry, a string orchestra with violin soloist arrangement of “Infant Holy, Infant Lowly.”

Really great work and the mixing is so nice!
If you're still having trouble, or anyone else out there, you could use just any any image, including the one from the top of the thread (https://us.v-cdn.net/6033923/uploads/0ZT1KWK8CXDJ/twelve-scores-wide.jpg).
Then you have multiple options. If you don't have any video editor, I personally use ffmpeg, which is the most popular and free tool out there that a lot of apps use it, but as a standalone it works with command lines. Then I used the following command line to create my video from an image:
ffmpeg -loop 1 -i image.png -c:v libx264 -tune stillimage -r 30 -t 59 -vf scale=1920:1080 video.mp4
-r 30 meaning 30fps; -t 59 meaning my video is 59 seconds long because this is how long is my song; -vf scale=1920:1080 is optional but if you want to resize the video to a specific size this is how.
Then with the same tool I add my audio to the video but people probably have that in their DAW like Logic and others.

Hi everyone!
This is my entry for the 12 scores of Christmas. It was a fun short project and I really enjoyed it. I tried something new, since I usually write slow music. Hope you guys enjoy my music! 😀

Here is my attempt at writing something original. I hope it's sounds like Christmas music. Any kind of feedback is appreciated. The time rule proved to be pretty challenging. it was initially twice as long, I had to cut a lot and also change the tempo in the end to reduce some more seconds :)

Here's my entry - enjoy - and merry Christmas one and all!

Hi all, here's the link to my entry. I have to say the standard is very high and I've enjoyed listening to the other entries. Good luck all!

Hi! I like this music and I would like to hear the initial score if you still have it. I agree that this kind of music needs more time to build the atmosphere.
For me, it feels like hearing a soundtrack from a happy ending of a christmas movie, nicely done 😀

Thanks a lot! For now it's nothing done, I worked and finished only this smaller version. I will finish it but I was thinking to do it when I learn more proper orchestration and arrangement, and mixing as well, as for now I'm not that happy with the result.

I absolutely cannot believe that I've almost missed this??? 😱 HOW? So strange...
BUT I just had enough time to try my best to join this merry mass of musings with my- probably- first ever Christmas composition...(I think...the late 20th century was a haze 😋).
Merry Christmas to all of us and good luck with this amazing set of potential gifts. Thank you for the wonderful motivator, haha! 🤗

Taron I've not even started mine mate lol, I'll have a smash at it tonight quickly! I've been singing in the car like a lunatic, trying to find the material I could use, idea stage is complete now I must some how quickly knock it together!

Here's my contribution to the #12ScoresOfChristmas. Keep in mind that I haven't a clue what I'm doing. I'm solely using Albion Solstice for this. I don't do social media so you'll just have to make do with my SoundCloud account
Stream Winter Solstice by Darkly Pure | Listen online for free on SoundCloud
For something to look at whilst listening, I've just added a still of my Christmas tree resplendent with my favourite William Shakespeare ornament... I realise this may look like it's a public hanging, but just shut your eyes whilst listening and you won't be able to hear Bill's struggles.

Here's my submission:
I used the following libraries: DK Frozen Glock, Spitfire Aluphone, Spitfire Percussion, Spitfire Studio Woodwinds, Spitfire Originals Intimate Strings, Spitfire LABS: Choir, Spitfire Abbey Road One, Spitfire Studio Brass, Spitfire Originals Cinematic Soft Piano, and Spitfire Studio Strings.
There's one entry allowed per person, but I ended up working on two pieces. Here's what I did not submit:
Libraries used: Spitfire Percussion & Spitfire Solo Strings.

Hi Everyone,
