SPO - Spitfire Prison Orchestra
”We spent “time” recording in one of the most unexpected places. The hard surfaces of stone, concrete and strategically placed metal bars provide a room ambiance not heard anywhere else. You’ll appreciate the “isolation” of the instruments as the players work in individual cells. The preset Yard Time is particularly interesting for building tension in your piece. The legatos are as smooth as a shiv being passed from one inmate to another. And the special Percussion section features clanging food trays, foot stomping, bar tapping and more. Select from different arrays of microphones - cell, hall, guard towers and fence line. Note, the bonus Solitary mic array is intentionally silent and won’t use up any memory. We hope you enjoy this new orchestral collection for many years to come (or at least until parole)!”

have Spitfire sampled Mark Korven's Apprehension Engine?

This thread is hilarious. From The Wall of Pink Floyd to prison and basement. I don't have such imaginations to see something else than a wall. What is it, stoned orchestra, stonewalled orchestra, stone cold orchestra, rock bottom orchestra? Or is it the rock (basement) I live under?

So, any update on what this is?

I don’t think so…still curious about this.

My first thought after seeing the announcement clip was that Spitfire finally chose to make a real close up session to get super-dry, mix-friendly sections/instruments?! For some reason that gave me a real jolt of excitement. 😃

You were quite on point Taron, with the close up dry session. For some reason, looking at an empty wall, all I could think was lots of room reverb that is coming out. I guess I got tricked.

So, my curiosity is getting the better of me… what is the photo of? Is that a wall at Abbey Road? Is that the chamber?
