Gonzalo Fantoni.-

I send the same message in English.
Hello, my name is Gonzalo Fantoni, I am from Argentina. I uploaded my video to my YouTube account and when I wanted to enter to complete the form and send my composition on the Spitfire page of the contest, it appeared that the competition had closed, but since I am from Argentina in my country it is 11:30 p.m. so I thought I had time to send it until 23:59 on the 12th today. So I still thought I had time to send everything. I ask if you could consider my case to enter the competition since I spent several days composing for this event and I would like to have the opportunity to participate.

First of all, thank you very much for everything and it was very nice to be able to work on this project and thank you for the opportunity you gave me and all the people to do this.
A big hug!

What! I was completely unaware! I never received any application form. My submission has been up since July 22nd. Is there anything I can do?

I added the #MyStargirlScore tag to the description, but it isn't showing in the tag section. Will updating the tag section disqualify me? Am I ok to leave the video alone? Thank you

Hi! I submitted my entry last night and now the contest is closed. I would like to modify the description of my video in order to add some links and comments. Is it allowed?
Thanks in advance!

Hi @Javi_Tienda,
Editing your video description is perfectly fine. We simply advise that you do not re-upload the scene or remove the #MyStargirlScore tag.

Hi @daniel96
You are permitted to share your clip (this also includes re-uploading your scored clip file to other platforms) so long as you are not monetizing it, clearly state that it was created as part of the Spitfire Audio DC's Stargirl Scoring competition and is not a commissioned piece.

Hi Spitfire audio team
Please could you answer, I entered the competition, sent my entry via Youtube and filled out the form as requested and I thought all is okay but I recently found out that I can be disqualified for adding an intro and ending title card.
Am I disqualified, as of now I believe I am, I put a lot of effort into this and for this to be the case, means the last few weeks was for nothing.
This is my entry

Hi @Joe_Sorce
A member of our team has reached out to follow up with this. Please check your emails for this.

Hopefully modyfying overall volume of original scene sound in mixer was not an issue.
Nothing was modified in original track itself, by this I mean individual parts of it, only volume to made it mix better with my music, as originally it was too loud for my taste.

🌟Announcement🌟
Thank you to all participants of the DC's Stargirl Scoring Competition! As the competition has now ended, we will not be able to answer any further competition questions or provide individual feedback on entries.
To participants who were not able to submit on time, whether due to timezones or technical difficulties, unfortunately, we are not able to make accommodations or accept late entries for the competition.
If you have completed your score, I would still recommend sharing it on socials, or within the Share Your DC's Stargirl Score thread, as you have a chance of receiving peer feedback which can be just as beneficial.
If you have any further questions, please check through the FAQ pages as there’s a high chance they have already been answered.

What about adding the tag? Mine was only in the description.

Hi,
I uploaded my entry in time last night but unfortunately I forgot to add the #mystargirl to the application! Does that mean that the judges won't see it?
My link is https://youtu.be/ZaoZha0k944 which is on my application form.
All the best,
Peter Kay

Spitfire... It seems like an incredibly easy mistake to make...

Hi @JSHerd - speaking for myself, I have a pretty busy day job, so finding the time to carve out has been difficult in the last few months. That said, I tend to work the best at nighttime when the house is quiet and probably spent the most time on beat mapping and spotting until the tempo choices were right. I did this a few times, because I made a few decisions while away from the computer to change my initial intentions. I was originally going to start my score with some tension strings before she says, "The bus!", but then decided that I'd do a processed piano stab right afterwards. Then, instead of starting the action while the bus was going through it's period of turmoil, I instead, opted to use a few brass stabs to accentuate the action inside the bus and when Joey slid down to the emergency exit door (I also threw an aleatoric set of strings while he was sliding down the bus, but it's probably a bit lost in the fx loudness in this section). Deciding on what to do with that first section, and when to ramp up the action was something that took me probably longer than anything else, and I hadn't really started laying down the music at at that point. I thought about it for days and did a bit of tinkering here and there before I managed to find time on the weekend to carve out the rest of the project.
I find the hardest part of any project the to be mixing. I recently had an older set of headphones break, and replaced them with the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pros, and the difference was night and day on being able to hear the clarity of my tracks and what needed tweaking. I'm still terrible at mixing, but continue to try to learn with every new project. Making sub-mixes for the drum bus, orchestral instruments, and then sends to aux buses with distortion, delays, reverb and a separate drum distortion bus was also really helpful as I was trying to balance everything.
All in all, it was more technically challenging to score this scene than my effort last year for Westworld, and as a weekend warrier composer, I had a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction to see the work completed. My day job is dealing with operating technology properly (databases and servers), and it's opportunities like this where I find joy in being creative and accomplishing/learning new tricks!

Hi, everyone, I am allowed to publish the original video left to me for dubbing without music, for an A B comparison with the video I edited on Facebook? Of course, with the indication that it is a competition.

The confirmation we got was through completing the google form link (was available on the first page, where the video download was) that was enabled during the competition period. After submitting that form, which should have contained our name, email and youtube link, you received an email, which is the confirmation that your entry is in the contest. I'm looking at your video on youtube and it shows it's posted on Aug 13, 2021, that means one day after the contest ended and you probably didn't complete the form?
