Legato has stopped working. Please help!
Hello!
I am relatively new to composing and have come across a problem. No legato patches across any of my libraries are working. Nothing from Kontact and even the BBSO legato isn't working. Sustains all work fine and shorts, but no luck getting any legato to work. When I play it, I will get the tail end or just the transitions between the notes but nothing usable. I thought it was just corrupted files, but this is happening across all my libraries, regardless if they are Spitfire or not. Has anyone else had this issue before? Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Hi there,
Have you seen are video on how Legato programming works below?

Thank you so much for the reply Angus!
I watched the video and tried overlapping the notes and such, but only get the transitions or releases and not the notes themselves. When I use my mouse to click on the notes on the Kontact keyboard, the notes trigger. But when I try to use my midi keyboard I get the problem. However, I'm still able to get shorts and sustains. Perhaps there is some sort of problem with the midi keyboard?

@Timothy12816 Have you checked the Velocity is low? You will only trigger the Portamento at a low velocity level (0-9).

I've experimented with the velocity and the mod wheel but still get the same effect. I tried using the VST's outside of my DAW (I use Cubase) and am getting the same results. Whether high or low velocity, I am only able to trigger the transition sound between the notes and not the notes themselves.

@Timothy12816 I'd suggest you reach out to support with a copy of your MIDI file for us to test and examine. We can then report any issues to the team, or let you know how to improve the MIDI programming you have used. (spitfireaudio.com/support)

Hi,
I'm having the same issue with Chamber Strings Vlns I en II. I know how to get the port. (legato articulation and low velocity and no gap) but it stopped working for some reason. An hour ago it was just fine. Is there a "no portamento" function that I accidentally activated?
Portamento does work just fine in the BBC SO. It is only in the Chamber Strings that I experience this problem.
Thanks for your time. Cheers, k

Hi @Koen_Brandt
Are you using the specific Chamber Strings Legato presets that contain portamento?

I too am not able to trigger the portamento anymore with BBSO pro. The notes overlap and the velocity is low and it just hits the other note like the velocity it up.

@NLG I'd reach out to our support team if I were you with a copy of your DAW session file. There are a number of reasons this can occur, so having the file will allow us to narrow this down. www.spitfrieaudio.com/support
