Kontakt 7 player vs. Kontakt 7

The full version has more functionality, e.g. editing samples, but for playing an instrument it really boils down to who pays the Kontakt licence fee: the vendor can pay for it, in which case their instrument can be used in Kontakt Player; otherwise, you have to pay for it by owning/purchasing Kontakt Full.
On the up-side, because Player-compatible instruments are effectively bundled with a partial Kontakt licence, owning one will get you a discount if you later decide to buy Kontakt Full. It doesn't mean everyone breaks even by any stretch, but still worth knowing about.
