BBCSO Timpani visual reference
Started working on a project recently; first time for something that appears to use more than just 1 or 2 timpani notes, which left me wondering how they might actually be used (vs just playing 'em like a keyboard and visualizing someone surrounded by a couple dozen of 'em, lol). Found an article online that seemed useful:
and after reviewing it, seemed to imply that the BBCSO Timpani range falls under the "extended collar timpani" model. So I grabbed some images and screenshots and tossed together a visual reference using Photoshop Elements:
