Wow what an amazing competition, scoring this was so much fun. I am new to composing to picture but made a hearty effort to complement each scene change and sensitively detail the emotional context whilst delivering a theme that carried throughout. I really loved adding a ripple of romance, a touch of comedy, splash of scandal and sprinkle spritely spirit as the scenes evolved. There was so much great content, it was mildly intimidating at first look but I decided to get out of my own way and allow myself to play through it intuitively.
I had was a mad dash to the finishing line today as my cpu almost had a melt down as I was completing my final edit but I just made it with seconds to go lol! I don't have fancy kit or epic libraries (yet) I simply used what was available to me in logic, labs and BBC SO discover.
Congratulations to everyone who took part and good luck to one and all.

This is my score 'The Whistledown Wedding Announcement' for the Spitfire Audio Scoring Competition 2022, as played by the 'Bridgerton Consort', i.e., a solo and concertante playing clavichord, a wind quintet, string sextet, plus two brass section phrases. Full score and more information on my website.

This is mine. Went completely in a different direction with it. In the end I went pure sass. Basically I saw the queen as quite a flamboyant character, she has hair to the gods, covered in jewellery, walking her 5 dogs with her minions following her so it kind of started from there really! 🙈

Good luck to all those who entered. Many great entries as ever. Here is my entry;

Lots of great stuff, wow! Best of luck everyone!
Here’s my humble attempt, scoring the part after the main title as kind of a montage sequence. Also I wanted to give the imminent marriage a mysterious touch, is it really real love?
808s, synth/arps, recorders and a jazzy orchestera. Hope u like it:

Can I ask how come when I do a search on #mybridgertonscore in YT, I don't get all 3000+ entries? I think only got around 300, and mine is not one of them. Hope I was not doing anything wrong when submitting the entry.

I've been blown away by the number of people entering this competition. Good luck to everyone who has gone to so much trouble.
Here is my entry. I used a mix of live instruments (piccolo trumpet, electric guitar, bass guitar) drum loops and percussion from Spectrasonics Stylus RMX), synths (Spectrasonics Omnisphere) and the classical instruments were a mix of Spitfire (Albion and BBC SO), LA Scoring Strings and EWSO.
I set the music in a style that is accurate to the Regency period of the early 19th century, so the melodic and harmonic language is like that of, say, Schumann. But I also wanted to get a contemporary edge, as the music to the characters in the drama is THEIR pop music. So, I introduced time signature changes to provide a more contemporary vibe and I cast the queen in my mind as a kind of rock star, and her acolytes and courtiers as her groupies. So, for these sections I added electric guitar, bass, drums, synth and percussion to the mix.

Hi everyone,
I submitted my entry a few days ago, but I wasn't happy with the mix. Two of the cues' stereo image was narrowed down, and sounded a bit muddy. Sorry for that.
Now, even the deadline for a replacement is over, I have just uploaded another mix I found more pleasant.
Thank you Spitfire and all contestants.

Hi Everyone
Here is my attempt at the Bridgerton competition. Looking forward to hear what you guys think.
After watching the clip, I knew that I wanted something with a 3/4 rhythm which I now know is called a Waltz. This was not an easy piece. One really needs to be careful not to overdo the instrumentation and distract from the dialogue and narration. I started with the waltz-y pattern and a theme for Daphne, which then has different variations to try and bring out different emotions in the different scenes.

Hello everybody!
A real pleasure to participate in this contest. Working with a global TV serie is amazing and I have enjoyed a lot.
Thank you very much for listening my work and any comment, like or suscription will be eternal gratitude.

I've approached the score as though the show or scene is a tragedy, with the main character being uncertain and trapped in the fate chosen for her, with everyone else around her oblivious to the fact that she isn't in charge of her own life or happiness.
