(Remastered) Atrus' Escape — MYST & Riven Symphonic Demo
I originally posted the old version a few days, but I made a lot of changes from the original track and also remastered it. I tried to push the limits of the free BBC SO: Discover, Native Instruments, and SINEfactory libraries as far as I could on this one. I also have some KORG Triton and KORG M1 synth patches in here too (both are also free but time-limited to 20-minute intervals on the free version).
This is a demo soundtrack set to the events right before the beginning of the game MYST. Atrus is making his escape off of Riven, fleeing as Gehn is attempting to steal the Myst linking book away. However, Atrus is able to make his escape just in time to jump into the newly opened star fissure and link off the age while Gehn is now trapped on a collapsing, solar eclipsed Riven.
This is my first time trying to make a "story-telling" music track, but hopefully, it worked out. (By the way, if you've never heard of the game Riven: The Sequel to MYST or its soundtrack, you've got to check it out...) 😁
