What to do when PC dies.
Having spent many hundreds of £ on Spitfire libraries such as BBCSO pro, I'm wondering what would happen if I have an un-retrievable PC breakdown and loose everything. Is there a way I can download them again onto a new PC?

That is really good question and it depends on which instruments/libraries you think are 'essential'. If you think that you absolutely do not want to pay for them again in case two computers break, then SSD is a nice option. Another reason why SSD option would be advantageous for some is because some people simply do not have enough storage space on their computer to store a huge library. If you do have enough space, storing it onto your PC should be fine.

So all spitfire plug-ins can be connected to two machines/computer. As long as that was the only time you downloaded them, yes, you can download onto a new PC.

OK thanks. At least I have BBCSO on SSD. This raises another point. If you keep buying your sound libraries on SSD are you supposed to have many USB slots occupied? Or should we be copying the libraries onto PC hard drives all in one place?

Hi. I do have BBCSO Pro on SSD so that's OK. I do wish they would let you select an SSD with a larger capacity so you could add / save more libraries there all in one place. I will make copies of E W Choir etc onto my own SSD. But not everyone buys libraries on SSD partly because of the price and the fact that you will end up with lots of USB ports full of different libraries.

Sorry I have posted the same thing twice.

All you need to do is re-download onto your new Setup, the choice of storage is up to you, my Libraries are stored on a separate internal HDD, so if my main drive fails they are still there.
