Recommendation for SSD
Hello fellow humans
I'm running an 2020 M1 Mac which is performing excellent, however I'm very close to filling up the 1TB internal SSD.
I would love to run all my SA libraries from an external SSD but I'm having problems finding anything that fits the bill. Spitfire do have an article about what to look for in an SSD but don't give any recommendations. I'm wanting to try and get 2 or 3 different options if possible.
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thanks gang.

I’m running all of my libraries, including BBCSO, off of two 2TB Samsung T7s. I have my Spitfire libraries on one and Native Instruments on the other. Very happy with the performance. The T5 should work fine also. The Sandisk Extreme Pro also works great.

There are even faster options available but cost more of course. Anyway, that’s what I’m using with my M1 Mac Mini.

I have a 2TB Samsung T5 with all my libraries. It works well. But Ken's idea of splitting the libraries over two discs is interesting as the 2TB is getting rather full. I wonder - does an SSD benefit from having some headroom?

A SSD does benefit from having free space. You can read more about it here, if you wish. https://www.seagate.com/gb/en/tech-insights/ssd-over-provisioning-benefits-master-ti/
