How can I save CC mappings between plugins and Logic Pro?

When I set up CC mappings in something like Felt Piano or Epic Strongs, I can set them up per parameter (ex: release, sustain) and it works perfectly with my controller (Nectar Impact LX49) as long as I keep that plugin open. If I close it and open it back up, or switch plugins and come back to it, those mappings are gone. I thought that clicking Save in the gear icon inside the plugin itself would do it, but it doesn't.

How can I set these mappings once and for all and have them functioning the next time I open a plugin?
